Recruitment Process

The AFP recruitment process involves a number of gateways designed to determine an applicant’s suitability to meet the requirements of the role.

  1. Meet the AFP minimum entry requirements and demonstrate a commitment to the AFP's core values of integrity, commitment, excellence, accountability, fairness, respect and trust. 
  2. Complete the AFP Employment Suitability Questionnaire.
  3. Complete the AFP Entrance Exam comprising of cognitive ability, numeracy, literacy and emotional intelligence testing.
  4. Initial first stage interview
  5. Background and security checks
  6. Fitness tests
  7. Health checks
  8. Psychological Assessment 
  9. Selection Interviews
